Shanghai Trip Day 4

Day 4 - 31 Dec 2007!! New Year Eve!!!

In the morning we went to Yu Yuan (garden) to shop shop and eat the famous Xiao Long Bao..

The streets were crowded with people and stalls selling chinese new year stuff.. Lifen and I bought some chinese new year rat decorations to bring home and paste on our living room walls.. Hee..
We had xiao long bao and some xiao chi (braised tou fu with xiao niao dan and sweet water chestnut) for brunch at Yu Garden.

This is the world famous Xiao Long Bao restaurant.. the queue at level 1 is long until we can't see the end. So in the end, we went up to level 2 and the queue is also very long.. The price of the xiao long bao increases as we go from level 1 to 2 but the bao is still the same bao. The price increase is because level 2 you queue less. I feel that it's quite a ridiculous pricing system. Dear was very frustrated with the crowd there because we didn't know how to order or how to pay or queue where for wad.. so in the end, Dear asked me and lifen to go downstairs to find a place to sit while he go and buy. So he just bought takeaway at the more expensive price at level 2 and went to wait outside the kitchen and when they prepared one basket of the xiao long bao, he took them and came to find us. Here's my handsome boyfriend (u might not think so.. but I think so can already.. hee..) eating the xiao long bao.. *smilez*

Dinner was at this HongKong Food Restaurant which has Roman setting.. check out their ceilings..And we waited around 2 hrs for a table! We ate po lo bao and steam chicken for appetitizer.. Their po lo bao is 10times better than those we buy in singapore crystal jade!!!
Our spread of main course.. Big Fish, Fried Rice and Fried Kuay Tiao.. and their lemon tea is really nice too! *twigz* my mouth is pouted coz it's full of food!!! Busy eating..

After dinner, we went back to Desmond's apartment to put down our shopping bags before heading to Xin Tian Di for the countdown.

Countdown Fireworks at Xin Tian Di (similar to Singapore Clarke Quay where all the clubs are)..
The China crowd wasn't very enthusastics about the fireworks we feel.. they were very solemn when the fireworks exploded.. and they seem to be admiring the firework display in silence.. they were so quiet that the whole video we recorded can only hear us screaming and getting high ourselves and the background fireworks popping.. This is the only firework photo we took because we took video instead.. Hope chris can upload the video soon..
